Andy Li
I am a first-year Ph.D. student in Computer Science at UC Riverside. My research explores GPU systems architecture and high-performance parallel algorithms, specifically repurposing hardware Ray-Tracing Accelerators (RT Cores via NVIDIA OptiX) for general-purpose computing workloads.
Research Focus
Hardware Ray-Tracing for GPGPU
Repurposing specialized RT cores and BVH traversal hardware via NVIDIA OptiX to accelerate non-graphics workloads, such as Gradient Boosted Trees and Multiple Sequence Alignment.
Parallel Graph Algorithms
Designing matrix-semiring algorithms and parallel graph processing primitives for distributed AI/ML accelerator clusters with NVIDIA Tensor Cores using CUDA and MPI.
High-Performance Computing
Developing highly scalable algorithms with thread-level parallelism, pruning search spaces for batch queries and point-to-point shortest path problems (SPAA '25).
